The latest Matti-News is that she's in a bit of pain and discomfort but she's doing well and is eating rice krispies.
Just had a text from [livejournal.com profile] mattimooz's mum. She's out of surgery and in recovery, doing fine.

[livejournal.com profile] mattimooz

May. 12th, 2009 06:05 pm
Just got a text about [livejournal.com profile] mattimooz. She went into theatre late and that's why she isn't back on the ward yet. That lateness is nothing to worry about.

I'll update again when I hear something more.
Those of you coming to Not!Xmas on Saturday, we'd like to make a request. We're going shopping tomorrow to get the turkey, the vegetables, the gravy etc., but there are some things we're hoping you guys will bring.

* alcohol (we'll provide orange juice, lemonade, coke etc. for mixers, but we can't afford to buy alcohol for eleven people!)
* nibbles (crisps, pretzels, whatever you guys like)
* dip
* cranberry sauce (if anybody wants it - neither [livejournal.com profile] thudjack or I like it)
* mince pies
* any other pudding-type things you want

We'd really appreciate it if everybody could bring at least a little something. Please leave a comment here saying what you're bringing (and check the comments others have left before deciding what to bring) so we don't end up with nine jars of cranberry sauce and no dip.

Thanks, guys!

Disclaimer: The Stargate universe does not belong to me, I am making no profit from this work of fiction.
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] nandamai
Prompt: S9 or S10, Jack and Sam on the same offworld mission, with them in an established relationship and their canonical jobs.
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] laurajo
Summary: Jack was looking forward to going offworld with SG-1 again, but he wasn't expecting it to be so... strange.
Author's note: Despite different prompts and a complete lack of communication prior to writing (though we do admit to collaborating on this author's note), [livejournal.com profile] laurajo and I seem to have exhibited our sharing of a single brain with this ficathon. We hope you'll just be as amused as we are about the whole thing!

Crime Crossovers 2007 [livejournal.com profile] crimecrossover...

What is Crime Crossovers 2007?

The Crime Crossover Ficathon is a fiction exchange where writers sign up to write a crossover based on the requests of another writer, and get a story written for them in return. The crossovers involve crime shows (Shocking, we know!).

Interested??? Go check out [livejournal.com profile] crimecrossover, and the Rules & Sign-Up post here!!

Also? If you are a member of any crime fandoms/communities/mailing lists andthey allow pimping, please feel free to either pimp this, or let usknow where we can pimp it!!
I've copied and pasted most of this from [livejournal.com profile] salr323's LJ, who I believe copied the text from [livejournal.com profile] eken95. As [livejournal.com profile] salr323 said, I'm sure everybody in the UK's heard about this. Maybe it won't do any good, but maybe it'll help to save a little girl, and all it costs us is five minutes of our time to post an LJ entry.

SG-1 Video

Jul. 13th, 2006 01:24 am
After coming up with the idea AGES ago and not getting around to actually making it, [livejournal.com profile] laurajo and I have made a music video. It's Stargate SG-1, gen (with a hint of Sam/Jack, 'cause it's us *g*), to the Alex Parks version of 'Mad World'. It can be found here on [livejournal.com profile] laurajo's site. Enjoy!

Everybody, let's have a HUGE round of applause for [livejournal.com profile] mattimooz, who got her final exam results this evening and GOT A 2:2 FOR HER DEGREE!!!!!! (Which, for those of you that don't know, is in scary, scary maths!)

I've just had her on the phone and she's thrilled, and bouncing, and going out to celebrate right now, so asked me to let people know rather than leave you all in suspense. A 1st would've been impossible for her to get, and a 2:1 was unlikely, so she's very, very happy with her 2:2. She worked enormously hard, and absolutely deserves every point she got her in her exams.

She also asked me to include lots of smiley faces, so...*

YAY FOR MATTI!!!

* [livejournal.com profile] smishpixie gets credit for the graphic, as I needed smiley faces in a rush and didn't know where to get them, so swiped them off her happy birthday post. Hope you don't mind, Smish!
I've had a bit of an unfriending spree. Please don't take it personally if you're one of the people I've cut, I just don't have time for a friends list the size of mine, and so I had to lose some people that I don't really talk with much, or have much in common with anymore.
The Wing Swing is back! Sign-ups are open right now, over at [livejournal.com profile] wingswing. So head on over there and remind me why I got myself into this again *g*

P.S. Pimping is love!

Disclaimer: Monica Reyes and John Doggett belong to Chris Carter, the rest of the characters belong to Jerry Bruckheimer. Nothing's mine but the situation.

Summary: "Samantha Spade has a reputation for taking her work (her colleagues) home with her. Taking witnesses home with her is probably the next logical step."

Author's Notes: Written for the Femslash Today 'Guns & Microscopes' ficathon, for [livejournal.com profile] celievamp. Truckloads of beta-love to [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch for licking this into shape. Any remaining blunders are obviously my own.

Distractions )
Because [livejournal.com profile] sangerin asked, and it occured to me that others may be wondering, I do plan to run the Wing Swing again this year. I'm looking at somewhere around the beginning of March to kick the whole thing off, and I hope as many of you as possible will take part.

Disclaimer: None of this is mine. It belongs partially to MGM etc., and partly to JJ Abrams.

Summary: "We've been tracking a woman called Anna Espinosa, formerly with a terrorist group known as K Directorate, but now gone freelance. She travelled from Colorado to Cairo on a private plane on Tuesday night, with a woman she appears to have abducted against her will. We're pretty sure the woman is Colonel Carter."

Author's Notes: For Tahlia, for the Sam/Jack Ficathon. Enormous beta-worship to [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch, who saved this fic from utter disaster. Needless to say the good parts are due to her beta, and the bad entirely my own doing. Finally, props to Ness, who set this whole thing up. Italics indicate flashback.

Winners!

Aug. 12th, 2004 05:23 pm
Crossposted from [livejournal.com profile] wingswing:

The votes have been counted, the graphics have been made (painfully, because I suck at arty things), and the winners are up on the site right now.

Best Overall (1st Place) - Luna, Thin Fire
Best Overall (2nd Place) - Katrina, Happily, Never, After
Hottest Story - Angie, Spin in a Circle of Gold
Unlikely Pairing - cgb, Yellow Flower
We Want More - KeladryB, (Let Me) Fall into Your Hands

I apologise for how long it's taken me to make the graphics. As I said, art really isn't my thing, and I haven't exactly been brimming over with spare time lately. I hope it's been worth the wait.
