Title: Sixteen Days
Author: Lin
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Bruckheimer, blah blah.
Summary: You're still counting.

Author's Note: For the Bordy's 'fifteen minute apocalypse' challenge. Hence, written in fifteen minutes, and unbeta'd. Mea culpa. ETA: Also, the 'backwards' challenge. Dude, two challenges with one fic!

sixteen days )

Like I said, written in fifteen minutes, and very likely to be revised before seeing the light of day lists, or even an unlocked LJ entry. Please give me honest opinions. If you hate it, rip it apart, I can take it. I really want to know what you guys think - you're on this filter for a reason.

The Wing Swing Voting is scheduled to close tomorrow. However, I'm keeping it open until next weekend.

Voting will now close on July 24th, instead of tomorrow.

I'd like to thank those of you who've voted already, but we just don't have enough votes yet to make it a fair contest. If I don't receive significantly more votes by next weekend, I'll have to cancel the 'contest' part of the Wing Swing, and just leave it as a story archive.

So, go to http://www.bluejello.org/wingswing, check out the fantastic fic there, and then follow the link to vote!

I hereby officially declare voting on the Wing Swing 2004 open!

The fics are up, the categories are there, and there are instructions on how to register your votes. You have until July 17th.

Knock yourselves out *g*

ETA: Why did I have to pick tonight to start reading an epic X-Men Movieverse comedic action/drama fic? I don't even read XMM fic! Damn [livejournal.com profile] crack_van.

Just to say, the fics are all coded, and will be uploaded tomorrow.

This is the last call.

If you've finished your fic since the deadline passed, but not sent it in because it was late (or you finish it before the fics go up tomorrow evening), go ahead and send it to wingswing[at]bluejello[dot]org. If it gets to me before I've opened the voting I'll code it and put it in.

So, to reduce the chances of my having a nervous breakdown over the next few days, I'm going to schedule the remainder of the Swing thus:

Saturday, July 3rd - All fics submitted will be on the site, along with voting categories and instructions on how to vote. Voting will begin.

Saturday, July 17th - Voting closes.

Monday, July 19th - Winners announced.

Apologies for mucking around with schedules and being disorganised. I offer no excuse, other than the utter disorganisation of the rest of my life.

Thank you all so much for taking part, I'm reading the fics as I html them, and I'm loving them.

You all rock.
Firstly, I'd like to thank everybody who's signed up for the Wing Swing already since yesterday.

However, it seems some of the submissions are going astray in cyberspace. I've replaced the automated form with one you email in yourself, to prevent people signing up and their form not reaching me.

I'm putting a list of people who've signed up already on the website (http://www.bluejello.org/wingswing) on the participants page, so what I'm asking is that, if you've signed up, could you go and check that your name is on there, and if it's not, resubmit your request?

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. Clearly, forms don't like me.
Remember the original Wing Swing?

Now it’s back!

Under new management, but basically the same. The idea is simple – you pick a female West Wing character, and (through a random draw) you’ll be assigned another character to pair her with. You get a month to write a fic of at least 1000 words, and at the end of it all there’ll be a vote and some awards.

So, head over to http://www.bluejello.org/wingswing, sign up, and help us generate some unconventional femslash!

There's also a livejournal for updates, so if you're signing up, don't forget to friend [livejournal.com profile] wingswing, so you don't miss any news.
Title: Out of the Shadows
Author: Lin (lin@bluejello.org)
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: Only the plot, such as it is, is mine. I'm a non-profit organisation, I swear.
Summary: "There is an unidentified ship, about four times the size of a Goa'uld mothership, on course for Earth. If they continue at their present speed, we estimate they'll reach us in a little over an hour." Sam/Janet

Author's Notes: Written for Sam O'Flaherty, for the Janet Ficathon. Also known as The Challenge That Ate My Brain. Absolutely no thanks whatsoever to [livejournal.com profile] laurajo, because she went to bed before she could help me think of a good title. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch for the read through, and allowing me to fire questions at her when I was not entirely coherent.

My challenge:

1. LJ name: None: I blog. But my name is Sam O'Flaherty.
2. E-mail: sadclarity@yahoo.com
3. Pairing: Janet/Sam preferably, but Janet/Daniel is Kosher too.
4a. Two other requirements: Quote Horace Mann. Reference something historically/politically significant. Because I'm a great big geek.
4b. Smut/NC-17: Whatever floats yer boat, mate.
5. Optional restrictions: No song fics, no use of a letter in place of a word (like u r 2 kool *shudders*)

Permanent link is here.

This is my [livejournal.com profile] femslash04 fic, which I believe it's now okay to pimp elsewhere.

Title: Not Without Affection
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: The West Wing belongs to Aaron Sorkin, John Wells et al. CSI belongs to Jerry Bruckheimer, Alliance Atlantis, CBS et al. Only the situation and the gnocchi are mine.
Summary: Catherine leaned forward conspiratorially. "I'll pretend to be your girlfriend, if you like."
Author's Note: For Oro ([livejournal.com profile] bananasrock), in response to the Femslash Ficathon '04. West Wing/CSI crossover, CJ/Catherine. Beta'd at short notice by the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] sarapallas, [livejournal.com profile] coldbeer, and [livejournal.com profile] leksa.

Author's Note 2: In a title brainstorming session with The Flatmates (Katherine, [livejournal.com profile] meamna, and [livejournal.com profile] trulyalcoholic), there were several honourable mentions, such as, "From Gnocchi to Nookie", "CJ Investigates Women's Naughty Bits", and "My First West Wing/CSI Crossover, by Lindsay Booth, aged 21 and 3/4". I couldn't, in all good conscience, leave them out. My apologies.
